About Us:

So.... who is Honey Picks?

Honey Picks was started by a couple brothers (Rick & Andrew Calhoun) from Taylorsville, NC on April 18th, 2020. 

Rick is a 35 year old dude who loves all things guitar and music. He enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 girls (twin 8 year olds and a 2 year old). His hobbies include all things guitar, fishing, hiking and sports. 

Andrew is 31 years old, and is an extreme tech guy. I mean the guy is into everything and anything that involves integrated circuits and mechanical switches. He is married and has 3 kids as well (4 year old boy and twins). His hobbies include gaming, mechanics, lasers and 3D printing. 

Yes.... we both have a set of twins. 

How did we come up with the name Honey Picks?

I mentioned before that we are from a small town in North Carolina called Taylorsville. Our town is known for just a couple things: Apples & Farming. The town's nickname is Apple City. Every year in October we have an Apple Festival and everyone comes from all over. So what does that have to do with Honey? I'm glad you asked... The reason we have the Festival and the nickname comes from all the Apple Orchards in and around our County. Those Apple Orchards rely on the bees to pollenate the trees and have a healthy and prosperous harvest. Those bees produce the most sweet and succulent honey I've ever had. There's nothing better than local honey from an apple orchard. Not only does it taste amazing, but it also helps with my crazy allergies and tastes delicious in a hot cup of Earl Grey tea.
